Announced in July, the Program aims to expand the number of medical specialists in the most needy regions of these professionals and reduce the waiting time in specialized care in the Unified Health System (SUS)through the offer of private providers in exchange for reduction in federal taxes.

THE Initiative allows establishments that adhere to the program to offer specialized care to patients from the Unified Health System (SUS)collaborating to reduce the waiting time of the population by surgeries, exams and consultations in public health. By the text, The program will operate until December 31, 2030.
“We have already included patients being treated by health plans, patients still treated in private hospitals. We have had the third shift actions in several municipal management. Our federal hospitals are already working in the third shift to have more surgeries, more exams more consultations,” said Padilha.
“We put more than 300 doctors experts to work in various regions of the country through direct action by the federal government. Concern about the distribution of professionals in the country motivated the government to create the program.
Data from the Ministry of Health show that most medical experts focus on three federation units: Federal District, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. In total there are 24,141 generalist doctors (40.9%), while experts reach 353,287 (59.1%) without acting in more distant regions and still focusing on private enterprise.
