In a statement, the Brazilian presidential palace said that both leaders agreed an official visit by the Brazilian vice president, Geraldo Alckmin, to Mexico, together with other ministers and businessmen, from August 27 to 28.
Brazil will support sectors affected by US tariffs
The Brazilian government is studying the possibility of supporting national companies affected by the increase in US tariffs, and seeks to do so with the least possible fiscal impact, a high -ranking official of the Ministry of Finance said on Tuesday.
At a press conference, the Ministry’s Executive Secretary, Darío Durigan, said that any eventual support would be directed and focused on the most affected sectors, although he stressed that no decision has yet been made.
The United States announced that it will increase tariffs on Brazilian exports to 50% as of August 1, from the current 10%.
