The homes in the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program will have increasingly higher quality and will be built in an even greater quantity than the government’s target of 2 million units. The guarantee was given by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, in Fortaleza, during the handover ceremony of the program’s approximately 1,300 housing units, in Cidade Jardim.
According to Planalto, the units delivered this Friday (11) are distributed in 81 blocks of four floors, with four units per floor. R$115.7 million were invested in the project, of which R$100.5 million was from the Residential Leasing Fund. The contribution from the government of Ceará was R$ 15.2 million.
During his speech, Lula highlighted that the project will have a leisure area and library, and that the government is already planning the construction of swimming pools for future residential units in the program.
According to the president, the costs for all this are not that expensive, especially taking into account the benefits they will bring to its residents. “What I saw today, here in this Free Zone and in this library, is the minimum amount of respect that government officials have to show towards the most needy people in this country. Everything you saw, with all those toys for the children, library, computer area, only cost R$500,000,” said Lula.
“Therefore, it is entirely possible that the entire housing complex not only has four walls for people to live in, but also has a leisure and comfort area outside the home so that you can live and be treated with respect,” he added, referring to collective environments. of housing complexes, especially libraries, which will help children “learn to travel through the world of books, which increase our knowledge and our culture”.
“We made a commitment to build 2 million more homes, and there are only 2 years and 3 months left for me to finish my mandate. We want to do more than the 2 million we promised. And the day is coming when we will also build a swimming pool for poor people’s children to have the pleasure of swimming”, said President Lula.
