President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva forwarded 17 nominations for management positions in nine regulatory agencies to the Federal Senate. To take office, the nominees must also pass the senators’ hearing. The names were published in an extra edition of the Official Gazette of the Union this Monday (16).
For the position of general director of the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), the federal attorney from the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) Artur Watt Neto was appointed. According to Planalto, he is a specialist in oil law. The current Secretary of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Pietro Sampaio Mendes, was chosen to occupy the position of director.
Leandro Pinheiro Safatle, from the Ministry of Health, was appointed to the position of director-president of the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa). Daniela Marreco Cerqueira and Diogo Penha Soares were appointed to the board.
Those nominated for the National Nuclear Security Authority (ANSN) were Alessandro Facure Neves de Salles Soares, for the position of CEO; Lorena Pozzo and Ailton Fernando Dias were chosen as directors.
Three names were defined for the board of directors of the National Water and Basic Sanitation Agency (ANA): Larissa de Oliveira Rêgo, Cristiane Collet Battiston and Leonardo Góes Silva.
In the case of the National Mining Agency (ANM), the nominee for general management was chosen José Fernando de Mendonça Gomes Júnior. As for the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT), Guilherme Theo Rodrigues da Rocha Sampaio was appointed as general director.
The current head of the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon), Wadih Nemer Damous Filho, was appointed general director of the National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS); and Patrícia Barcelos is chosen for the National Cinema Agency (Ancine).
According to Planalto, there was a replacement in the nominations for the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac). “For the position of CEO, he withdrew the nomination of the current replacement, Tiago Sousa Pereira, and the director of Infraero, Tiago Chagas Faierstein, will take his place.
Lula also withdrew the nomination of Mariana Olivieri Caixeta Altoé for Anac. Rui Chagas Mesquita was nominated in his place.
