President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva issued a note on Monday (14) recognizing the victory of Ecuador President Daniel Noboa, reelected this weekend for the second term.
“I greet the Ecuadorian people and the reelected president, Daniel Noboa, through the elections of Sunday, April 13. Brazil will continue to work with Ecuador in defense of multilateralism, by South American integration and sustainable development of the Amazon,” Lula wrote, in an official statement published on his social networks.
The official result gave the current president of the Directist Party National Democratic Action, 55.6% of the valid votes, compared to 44.3% for the left candidate Luísa González. There were more than 1 million votes difference in favor of the current agent.
Luisa González, however, disputes the result and presented Fraud Denunciation.
