November (14), he attended the Federal Government event to deliver Land Regularization titles to residents of the community of Brasilia Teimosa, in Recife (PE).
His family was one of the town’s 599 to have the document in this first phase of delivery. At the end of his quick speech, he sang with his neighbors: “I don’t leave, nobody takes me out of here.”
“We are a resistance community. We have been rescuing our stories, our parents, and our grandparents,” said the resident, who recalled the community’s “stubbornness” as he re -prosecute even after police aggression.
Silva was moved by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. “Our story is very great. We lived without dignity. It was a land that we fought and we were afraid of real estate speculation.”
True owners
Lula recalled, in speech, in the face of the beneficiaries of the action, that, in 2003, there was real estate pressure to build real estate by the sea.
“There were a lot of people who thought we had to get you out, knock down the stilts and send you away … But the real owners of this land are you.”
Lula visited Brasilia stubborn with ministers at the beginning of his first government in 2003 to “show reality” to members of the executive’s first level.
The president said he intends to deliver until January next year all 6,700 regular lots. Lula regretted excessive bureaucracy and delay in regularization of land for the poorest.
Land regularization
The president lamented that residents died without receiving the title they expected so much.
“I’ll be back in January (to deliver all the titles). I assume this commitment. Prepare the party.”
According to the government, the process of land regularization in Brasilia Teimosa was divided into three stages. In all, there will be 6,759 regularized lots, 1,006 in the first phase and another 5,753 in the following phases.
In addition to the land regularization of Brasilia Teimosa, the urbanization of areas occupied by low -income families is planned in the Periphery Viva Program.
The president also asked the residents of the region to bring the necessary documents in the notary’s offices for regularization. “The title will give security. The title says that you are owners and that no one will be able to mess with you,” explained Lula.
