President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva canceled the press conference to close the meeting of the G20, a group of the 19 largest economies on the planet, plus the European Union and the African Union. According to Palácio do Planalto, this afternoon’s bilateral meetings were extended, and the president needs to return to Brasília this evening, where he will receive Chinese president Xi Jinping this Wednesday (20).
Palácio do Planalto reported that it will try to reschedule a press conference this Wednesday in the federal capital. At 5:30 pm, Lula participates in the announcement of the results of a round of investment in health by G20 countries. The president will be accompanied by the director general of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom.
Held after the transmission of the G20 presidency to South Africa, the bilateral commitments and the WHO event close the marathon of official commitments over the last two days at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro. THE official document of the G20 Leaders’ Summit was released on Monday night (18).
The press conference was awaited by journalists because President Lula was expected to comment on the Federal Police operation that arrested four military personnel and a federal police officer accused of planning the assassination of the president, vice-president Geraldo Alckmin, and the minister of the Supreme Court. Federal (STF) Alexandre de Moraes.
