President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva announced, on Friday (29), R $ 9.7 billion in investments in public transport to several states. In an event, in Contagem, Minas Gerais, the president released the new proposals qualified for pre-selection in the mobility lines large and medium cities and fleet renewal of the new growth program of 2025 (PAC Selections).
“This investment is the beginning of the harvest we are doing,” Lula said by citing the policies implemented in the early years of the government.
The new PAC Selections is aimed at serving priority projects presented by states and municipalities. THE List of works contemplated in this year’s stage is available on the Civil House pageresponsible for the coordination of the program. The program remains open to the forwarding of new proposals.
In the mobility line large and medium cities were qualified 28 proposals in 12 states, which can reach R $ 5 billion in funding to the public sector, as well as a proposal focused on the private sector, in the amount of R $ 1 billion. Possible investment types include BRT, subway, VLT, exclusive runners, terminals, public transport integrated bike lanes and smart transportation systems.
In the Public Sector Reflect, fleet renewal program, 12 proposals were qualified, which can reach R $ 1.27 billion, and 71 from the private sector, in the amount of R $ 2.47 billion. The amount may vary according to the evaluation of financial agents. In this line are electric buses, euro 6 standard vehicles, roller material for rails and water transport boats, as well as operational support systems and equipment.
After pre-selection, the proponents must present to the financial agents the technical documentation for feasibility analysis. With the validation, the proposals move to the final selection stage, to be published by the Ministry of Cities.
Financing lines feature FGTS funds under special conditions with interest of 5.5% per year for rail and 6% per year systems for others, as well as amortization deadlines that can reach 30 years for rail transportation, with a lack of up to 48 months.
New avenue
Still in Contagem, President Lula delivered an excerpt from the works of Avenida Maracanã, which, with the revitalization, was renamed Avenida Mayor Newton Cardoso.
The work delivered on Friday corresponds to an extension of 2 kilometers and is part of a set of macrodrainage and mobility interventions that total R $ 270 million in investments, with funds from the Sanitation Program for all, advancing cities and the municipal counterpart.
In total, the venture provides for the implementation of 4.5 kilometers of mobility corridor, as well as drainage, paving, urbanization, stream channeling and environmental recovery. Among the improvements are two 13.5 meters, bike path, five track boarding points, four bridges and four viaducts.
