The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said on Tuesday (22) that businessmen from Brazil and Chile should deepen business relations to leverage the growth of the economy of both countries.
At the closing event of the Brazil-Chile Business Forum, in Brasilia, He encouraged Brazilian entrepreneurs to import more products from Chileto balance the trade balance.
“Chilean and Brazilian entrepreneurs need to know that a good deal is one that everyone wins. And as the biggest economy in Latin America, Brazil has to understand that it is forced to make things more flexible so that things can happen. It is not to be fair,” he said, alongside Chilean President Gabriel Boric.
According to the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), the Brazil is Chile’s largest commercial partner in South Americawith predominance for industrial goods. Already the Chile is the seventh largest commercial partner in Brazil and represents 2.1% of the Brazilian trade current.
In 2024, the Exchange between the two countries added US $ 11.7 billion, being US $ 6.7 billion in Brazilian exports to Chile and US $ 5 billion in Importances.
Lula also pointed out that the Latin American countries should not just wait for help from the richest countriesas the United States and the European Union.
“No one will make us rich, they will get rich. What we need is that we want to get rich from our ability, our investment.”
Boric highlighted the socioeconomic stability of Chilewhich makes the country a great destination for investments.
“Chile is a reliable partner, a stable, safe country that respects the rules of the game and with whom it is possible to do mutual benefit business.”
The Chilean President also assured that the Country does not support any trade war.
“We believe trade is to bridge peoples, to generate wealth and to share the best way. When choosing protectionism, the impaired are not political elites, they are people, families, small producers.”

Forum
The Brazil-Chile Business Forum is organized by CNI and Chile’s manufacturing development society. 250 participants are expected, including entrepreneurs, representatives of sectoral entities and authorities from both countries.
The purpose of the event is to strengthen commercial ties, boost investments and promote innovation, discussing business environment and priorities in the private sector.
The forum program includes discussion panels on productive chains and cooperation in strategic areas such as energy, tourism and sustainable finances.
