Lula and Boric drive regional agenda and reactivate bioceanic corridor between Brazil and Chile

The president of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silvahe received on Tuesday to his Chilean couple, Gabriel Boric, on a state visit focused on strengthening regional integration, bilateral trade and the analysis of shared strategic projects.

“We will work to strengthen the strong cooperation and friendship relationship between our countries”Lula wrote in his x (Twitter) account.

The Brazilian president stressed that they would address projects in areas such as infrastructural, commerce and innovation, and announced that they would participate together in the Brazil-Chile Business Forum.

The welcome ceremony at Boric took place at the Planalto Palace, where the Chilean President reviewed the Dragon Battalion of Independence, Honor Regiment of the Brazilian Presidency.

Lula and Boric talk about the bioceanic corridor

Among the central points of the agenda, the reactivation of the Bioceanic corridoran ambitious regional infrastructure project that seeks to connect Atlantic and Pacific Oceans through a network of more than 2 400 kilometers of roads.

This route would cross the southern Brazil, the Paraguayan Chaco and the Argentine provinces of Salta and Jujuy, until reaching the Chilean ports of Antofagasta, Mejillones and Iquique.

Lula and Boric have planned to issue a joint statement after the meeting. Then they will share an official lunch at the Itamaraty Palace, headquarters of the Brazilian Foreign Ministry.

As part of your visit, Boric will also attend a business seminar where around 250 Brazilian and Chilean businessmen will meethighlighted the agency’s office EFE.
