Luiz Henrique, scorer of the first goal in the Copa Libertadores final, stated that Botafogo must remain focused after winning the continental title this Saturday, because “there are more” titles at stake.
“Botafogo needs to be at the top because it is working hard. Many people tried to stop me, but God is with me. We must remain focused, there is more,” Luiz Henrique told Brazilian television on the lawn of the Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires, after finishing the final against Atlético Mineiro, in which Botafogo won 1-3.
In this way, Luiz Henrique alluded to the last two days of the Brazilian league, in which Botafogo has the option of being crowned champion, to achieve a double that would be historic for the club.
Argentine Alex Barboza appreciated that Botafogo played with “personality” and “humility”, especially since Gregore was sent off at the beginning of the match.
“Everyone ran a lot, we played with one less player from the 40 seconds. It’s incredible what this team achieved,” commented Barboza.
Alex Telles, full back for the Brazilian team, recalled that when he arrived in Botafogo he found “a hungry team” after having lost the 2023 Brazilian league in the last few days.
“We knew the responsibility we had. And Botafogo is champion. Whoever doesn’t like it should swallow it.”
