The National Alliance for the Rights of Peoples (Anadepo) and the National Government managed to sign an agreement, this Sunday night, in the city of Santiago, province of Veraguas.
With the signing of the agreement, the new cost of a gallon of fuel is set at $3.25 and it is agreed to lift all the closures of communication routes in the country.
Luis Sánchez, general secretary of the Association of Veragüenses Educators (AEVE) and representative of Anadepo, referred to the other dialogue table that was installed in San Félix, led by the Minister of Government, stating: “There was no legitimacy in the San Félix table, what was happening was buying the conscience of the Ngäbe comrades, that is what delayed all the negotiations we had in Santiago, I told the vice president.”
He stressed that those $3.25 should take effect as of July 22, for all Panamanians. “If that is not fulfilled, I will be the first to put my car on the Inter-American highway to close the highway,” said the teacher’s leader.
