The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) appointed Luis Natal del Carpio Castro as president of the Board of Directors of the National Financial Fund for the State Business Activity (FONAFE)by ministerial resolution No. 173-2025-EF/49.
Del Carpio is a Peruvian economist with an outstanding professional career. He graduated from the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM) and has a master’s degree in administration and finance, as well as a doctorate in global economic management, both granted by the University of the Pacific.
It has more than 20 years of experience in the structuring of public-private investment projects. During his management as Executive Director of Proinversion, he led the Special Directorate of Projects, from where he promoted initiatives in strategic sectors such as health, transport, tourism, irrigation, communications and mining.
Fonafe is a state corporation assigned to the MEF, created to regulate and direct the business activity of the State. It works as a holding company that brings together 35 public companies that operate in key sectors such as energy, finance, hydrocarbons and transport. Its work includes the administration of resources, the approval of management standards and the budgetary consolidation of the state business group.
Its main objective is to ensure efficient and sustainable management, aligned with government public policies, and thus contribute to the country’s economic and social development.
