The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, appointed Luis Ignacio Granko Arteaga as the new president of the National Institute of Land Traffic (INTT), replacing Major General Gabriel Aguana Rodríguez.
According to a press release from the Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace, the appointment of Granko Arteaga as head of the nation’s transit body was published in the Official Gazette number 42,978, dated Friday, October 4, 2024, and was signed by the executive vice president of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, as well as endorsed by the Minister of Popular Power for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, Captain Diosdado Cabello Rondón.
Granko Artega is a colonel in the Bolivarian National Guard.
It is important to highlight that the INTT is an entity attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, with jurisdiction over land transportation.
One of the primary functions of the entity is to promote road safety and to this end, it has held sessions that include “preventive approach to future drivers”, proceeding to go to schools and high schools to promote awareness.
Likewise, they provide guidance on the necessary documentation and the use of road devices.
