SANTO DOMINGO.- The presidential candidate for the Dominican Liberation Party Luis de León declined his aspirations and joined the project of Margarita Cedeño, less than a week before the consultation in which the candidates in search of the nomination will be measured.
Until yesterday, Luis de León was one of the six PLD pre-candidates who have been touring the country for several months trying to win over the organization’s militancy to join the cause, and the only one who has so far declined his aspirations to join another project.
When making the announcement yesterday afternoon, Margarita Cedeño assured that the entry of Luis de León to her project is synonymous with the strengthening of the unity that exists in the Dominican Liberation Party.
Luis De León stressed that the safe return of the PLD to power will be led by Margarita Cedeño, while the former vice president expressed that she is grateful for Luis de León’s decision, considering that his project is the only one that indicates the development and progress of the Dominican Republic.
“This is the project of opportunities for all, where we give participation and inclusion to all Dominicans,” said the presidential candidate.
De León, who is coordinator of the Fuerza Bochista, highlighted the skills that the former vice president has, qualifying that she has the experience of the State and the necessary conditions to ensure social sensitivity, support and protection of Dominican families.
“Margarita has done social work, she embodies the cultural values of bochismo, values, ethics, morals, democratic principles, culture, education and family,” he said.
