In a conversation with her son Jorge Luis, Oneida Escobar spoke about the details of the end of her marriage: «We were filled with a lot of resentment. Luis Alonso blamed me, maybe for being a pimp, or for going out to parties. “God was warning me of my son’s death and I didn’t realize it.”
«I understood that attitude of yours (Jorge Luis Colmenares) and more because of the separation. I know the moments we were experiencing, because at home it was an atmosphere of fighting. It wasn’t what you needed at that moment, because you needed us together. It was terrible and even I wanted to leave my own house to see all the problems,” she added.
Oneida Escobar stated that this adverse situation was the trigger for the relationship with Luis Alonso Colmenares to become tense and take another direction, unthinkable for many: “That was what led me to remove your father, because I needed my peace of mind. I kept all that to myself so that you wouldn’t lose that beautiful image of your dad. I didn’t tell you that the real reason I was crying was because your dad had someone else. It was a very hard moment for me because I didn’t expect that, coming out of your brother’s grief, your father would come out with that. I hid it from you many times and blamed myself.
Finally, Luis Andrés Colmenares’ mother expressed that she does not feel resentment for what happened.
