Luichy Vargas sings to Armando Manzanero

Luichy Vargas sings to Armando Manzanero

The troubadour from Santiago, Luichy Vargas, records a tribute to the great Mexican composer, with the song Aquel señor.

Luichy Vargas is part of one of the most influential musical families in the Cibao. His voice, his repertoire and his mastery of the guitar make him the quintessential bohemian troubadour of Santiago de los Caballeros, capable of playing a bolero, a creole song, a son or a merengue, a worthy follower of a centuries-old tradition.

Manzanero’s version of the song is accompanied by a video clip shot in the mountains of Cibao, accompanied by a musical group that includes violins, Colita’s piano and efficient percussion. Luichy Vargas’ version is as authentic as it is personal, without trying to imitate the original performer. It transmits, without stridency, a song that belongs to the best of international bolero music. Luichy deserves space.
