Senator Fernando Lugo, hospitalized in Argentina due to a cerebrovascular accident, received a medical discharge today, according to his representative, Fulgencio Rodríguez, a legislator from the Guasu Front.
“Today is a great day! Dear comrade Fernando Lugo has just received a medical discharge that will allow him to return to Paraguay.” Senator Fulgencio Rodríguez wrote on his Twitter account to announce the news.
Nevertheless, It is estimated that Lugo’s return to the country would be within 15 days, in order to continue his recovery at his home in Lambaré, from where, in addition, he would connect again for the ordinary sessions of Congress.
Rodríguez was last Thursday with Lugo in Buenos Aires, in order to assist him and accompany him in hisor virtual appearance, during the first session of Congress, in which he was for a few minutes, after which he disconnected, without speaking or participating in the voting.
In the political sphere, the Guasu Front and the Coalition seem to be fighting over who gets the support of Lugo, taking into account that Within the FG there are two groups, one that supports Euclides Acevedo and the other that is played by Efraín Alegre.
On both sides they attribute statements in favor of each yes, assuring what is the political position of the ex-bishop, who hUntil now, he has difficulties speaking, and therefore, he cannot confirm or deny the statements of those around him.
Lugo suffered a stroke on August 10, when he was in the offices of Congress. Since then, he remained hospitalized for a few days in Paraguay, but was later referred to Buenos Aires for better treatment.
