The supreme decree that will “democratize” the Teaching Spill, according to President Castillo, continues to cause a stir in the different sectors and unions linked to education in the country. This time the general secretary of Sutep, Lucio Castro, accused the Minister of Education, Rosendo Serna, of “inept” for not knowing how to manage state resources, who previously spoke about Sutep’s interference in the DM and the possible teachers’ strike. Peruvian.
Last Monday, July 11, Serna recognized that the rule promoted by Pedro Castillo intends to exclude Sutep from the Teacher Spill and tried to defend it under the premise that it is the union led by Lucio Castro who directs the threads of this institution.
The latter with a clear reference to the directory of the Teacher Spill, which does not include any representative of the National Federation of Workers in Education of Peru (Fenate Peru), a union created by the head of state and where the current head was also a member. of Education.
“Of the 5 members of the Spill board: three belong to Sutep, one is from higher education and one is from Minedu. The surveillance council is made up of 2 members from Sutep and one from Minedu. I am going to that topic: why should an institution be mortgaged to a single union?”, said Serna.
Rosendo Serna also referred to the strike that Sutep has been promoting and challenged Castro to call it “to see if the teachers are going to respond.”
Faced with this, Lucio Castro considered that the impact of Sutep on the Peruvian teaching profession was being minimized and emphasized that “the minister has little authority to appoint someone, what he has to do is address the challenges that to date he has not been able to overcome. ”.
The leader expressed his discomfort with the way in which Serna has been performing as Minister of Education.
“I give you two details: we are in July and only 30% of the education budget has been spent, it means that we are facing an inept who does not know how to manage resources,” he explained to La República.
