Lucas Ocampos suffers facial paralysis

The former Sevilla player Lucas Ocampos is going through a difficult time as he was not able to join the training sessions prior to the start of the Liga MX Clausura tournament with his team, the Rayados from Monterrey.

The Mexican club reported that the Argentine soccer player is experiencing facial paralysis on the left side of his face, of probable viral origin, which has prevented him from working normally with his teammates.

“He Monterrey Soccer Club informs that the player Lucas Ocampos He presented facial paralysis of the left hemiface of probable viral etiology. Ocampos was evaluated by a specialist to define the treatment to follow. The player will rest for 7 days and his clinical evolution will be evaluated to determine when he can return to preseason work with the group,” reads the statement from the Aztec club.

After detecting the symptoms, Ocampos underwent a medical evaluation, with the aim of defining the appropriate treatment and closely monitoring his evolution. According to the statement issued by the institution, the player must complete a one-week rest period after which he will be evaluated again to determine the exact time of his return to training.

Two months inactive due to another domestic mishap

The former Sevilla player also suffered a major mishap when he tried to help his daughter after a fall in a riding class. The player was unlucky enough to lose control of a skateboard, skidded on a slope and ended up hitting the asphalt. The result was a broken wrist and facial trauma. That situation kept him inactive for two months.
