Shortly after nine o’clock this Friday morning, attorney Miguel Ontiveros arrived at the federal justice center based in the North Reclusorio and assured that his client Emilio Lozoya Austin is willing to collaborate with the federal authorities and thus reach a settlement agreement.
He stressed that the defense strategy will remain in the line of seeking the reparation agreement.
“We continue to collaborate until today and it has firmly maintained its collaboration with the Attorney General’s Office, it filed a complaint that is in the public domain, we have evidence, that is the position, firm, solid and that is what we are going to manifest the today,” he said in an interview.
In April 2022, Emilio Lozoya, through his defense, offered to pay 10.2 million dollars, of which 7.3 million were for the Odebrecht case and 3.4 for Agronitrogenados, however, Pemex and the FGR did not accept said amounts and postponed the hearing in which a settlement agreement was sought.
In this context, the lawyer Miguel Ontiveros highlighted that in the respective hearings on November 4 and 7 they will hear from both Pemex and the FGR the economic amount that they consider pertinent to repair the damage for both the Agronitrognados and Odebrecht cases.
“It is a disposition that is based on solid expert opinions, issued by the institutions, it is not an offer made by the Lozoya family, but it is a disposition of the state institutions,” he explained.
In networks, the Lozoya scenarios are handled as of today; This is the case of Lourdes Mendoza, thanks to whose photos it became clear that the former director of Pemex enjoyed luxury restaurants while the investigations against him were being followed.
What will Emilio Lozoya do today?
1.- Will he defend himself? To go to trial he would have to change his lawyer because his is close to Gertz Manero
2.- Will they accept 50 million dollars to compensate the damage?
3.- He will go to an abbreviated procedure, that is, he pleads guilty and so everyone washes their faces @FGRMexico– Lourdes Mendoza (@lumendoz)
