The Caribbean makes its way into the Colombian skies. From December 5, 2025travelers will be able to fly directly from Cali and Medellín to Punta Cana thanks to the international expansion of JetSMARTthe largest and fastest growing ultra low-cost airline in South America.
The company announced the ticket sales for these new routeswhich will have six weekly frequencies between both cities and the Dominican destination, consolidating Colombia as a key point in its expansion strategy towards Central America and the Caribbean.
The announcement coincides with a moment of boom for air transport in the country. Since its arrival in 2024, JetSMART has built a nationwide network of 19 domestic routes that connect cities like Bogotá, Cali, Medellín, Cartagena, Santa Marta, San Andrés, Cúcuta, Barranquilla, Pereira and Montería.
Its fleet, made up of nine Airbus A320NEO aircraftis the most modern in South America, with an average age of only 3.1 yearswhich guarantees efficiency and lower polluting emissions.
