“Love on Wheels” brings free medical care to Herrera

The “Love on Wheels” program has provided valuable free medical care to hundreds of residents in the province of Herrera, since its launch on Monday, August 26 at the Minsa Capsi in Pesé. This initiative, promoted by the office of First Lady Maricel de Mulino in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (Minsa), is designed to offer essential medical services to low-income women without health insurance.

The health day has been a success, offering a wide range of medical services. To date, more than 80 mammograms have been performed and around 125 subdermal contraceptive implants have been placed. In addition, residents have had access to electrocardiograms, obstetric ultrasounds, HIV and pregnancy tests, as well as vaccinations and counseling on health and healthy lifestyles.

The programme is aimed specifically at women over 40 years of age for mammograms and is designed for those who do not have prior medical referrals. The activity has reached all districts of the province, including remote and hard-to-reach areas, ensuring that more people can benefit from these vital services.

Hilario Correa, regional director of Health of Herrera, expressed his gratitude to First Lady Maricel de Mulino for her commitment to the health of the inhabitants of Herrera. Correa highlighted the importance of offering these services free of charge and safely, which has made it possible to serve the most remote and needy populations.

“Amor sobre Ruedas” will run until Friday, August 30, continuing its mission of providing comprehensive medical care and support to the Herrera community. This effort reflects the commitment to improve access to health and support those who need it most in the region.
