As of the end of the month, prices for lottery bets will be R$ 0.50 more expensive. According to Caixa Econômica Federal, the readjustment will be made after more than three years without raising prices. Two modalities will have increases at the beginning of next month.
For Mega-Sena, Lotofácil, Quina and Lotomania, the new prices will apply from April 30th. For Timemania and Lucky Day, the increase will take effect on May 3rd. According to Caixa, the readjustment was necessary to restore accumulated inflation since November 2019, when the last increase took place.

The bank did not say whether the higher prices for the bets will increase the value of the prizes, but this must be because the prizes are defined based on a percentage of the amount collected in each contest.
How to bet
Bets can be placed until 7 pm (Brasília time) on the day of the draw at any lottery shop in the country and also on the Loterias Online portal. Customers with Internet Banking Caixa access can place their Mega-Sena bets using their personal computer, tablet or smartphone. To do this, you must have a bank account and be over 18 years old. Betting via Internet Banking can be placed from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm (Brasília time), except on draw days, when betting closes at 7:00 pm, returning at 9:00 pm for the next contest.
To play online, on the Online Lotteries Portal, the bettor needs to be over 18 years old and complete a small registration. The customer chooses his guesses, inserts them in the cart and pays all his bets at once, using his credit card. The minimum purchase amount on the Portal (which can contain bets of all types available on the site) is BRL 30.00 and a maximum of BRL 500.00 per day. Also through the portal, bettors can opt for betting combos, which can be of just one modality or of several modality. When selecting the combo, the customer can choose between viewing the numbers selected in each bet or the “Little Surprise” format, in which the system randomly chooses the numbers for the bet.
For users of the iOS platform, the Loterias Caixa application is now available in the Apple Store. The modalities that are available for betting are: Mega-Sena, Lotofácil, Quina, Lotomania, Timemania, Dupla Sena, Loteca, Lotogol and Dia de Sorte. Bets can be placed every day and at any time during the registration period of each contest. Soon, says Caixa, the application will be available in the Google Play store.

For the Mega-Sena, Lucky Day, Lotofácil, Quina, Dupla Sena and Loteca modalities, there is the possibility of making a syndicate. All you have to do is form a group, choose the bet numbers, set the number of shares and register with any of the lottery shops in the country. When registered in the system, the bet generates a quota receipt for each participant who, in the event of a prize, can redeem their share of the prize individually.
The gambler can also acquire shares of pools organized by the lottery. You must ask the attendant for the number of shares you want and keep the receipt to check the bet on the day of the draw. In this case, you may pay an additional service fee of up to 35% of the quota value, at the lottery’s discretion. With the readjustment, the minimum and maximum quotas of the pools will also be adjusted, according to each modality.
