Lot 5 of Paraná highways is auctioned

Lot 5 of highways in Paraná – which includes roads connecting Maringá to Cascavel and Cascavel to Guaíra – was granted to Grupo Pátria, which presented a discount offer in relation to the toll value of 23.83%, with an additional contribution of R$399 million, which will add to the R$11 billion foreseen in the notice.Lot 5 of Paraná highways is auctioned

The batch is the last of road concessions in the state and includes the duplication of 238.57 km and the construction of 19.99 km of marginal roads for a total of 432.77 km, in sections of the BR-163/369/467 and PR-158/317/467/977/978 highways.

The Pátria group is the concessionaire of Lot 1 of highways, which connects Curitiba to Ponta Grossa, and also has state and federal roads, in addition to having tried to grant Lot 4 last week.

Victory

The occasion was celebrated by the governor of Paraná, Ratinho Junior, for whom the contracts are a victory when compared to previous concessions, from the 1990s, which were expensive and inefficient.

“It’s a huge difference in gains in scale, in safety for the highways and in the pockets of people from Paraná. So, for us, it’s a reason for mission accomplished today, after working for so long to get these six lots, the major arteries of the state, off the ground. We’re going to have corridors, contours that are important to take traffic out of the big cities, to bring more mobility in these cities that are crossed by highways and more agility, especially up to the Port of Paranaguá, which is the second most important port in the country, after Santos”, said the governor, in an interview.

Also present, the Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, celebrated the concession, the ninety-sixth of the Investment Partnership Program – PPI – since 2023 and which reaches R$240 billion in planned investments.

“In a few years, around 2030, we will have an annual average of R$60 billion invested in works. This is unprecedented,” he stated, highlighting that the challenge will be to meet the demand for construction inputs, such as stone.

Projects

The Ministry of Transport awarded 13 projects this year to the private sector, with two strategic projects remaining – the Fernão Dias and BR-101 concessions, in their section in Rio de Janeiro, for the beginning of 2026, in addition to the Rota Sertaneja concession with an auction next week.

Tomorrow (31), the Ministry of Transport launches the notice for works on the transnortheastern railway.

“These are extremely important auctions for strengthening investment in national infrastructure, and, next year, we will hold another 14 auctions. The hallmark of the federal government’s set of auctions is the presence of pipeline most reliable (set) of projects on the planet today. Therefore, we attract competition, obtain discounts and form contracts with good performance”, stated the minister.

The competitiveness of projects can be seen in the very origin of investment resources. The Pátria group, winner of this lot, is still negotiating investments for the coming years, but has guaranteed the initial investments for the two lots acquired and other concessions with international partners, such as the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund.

Free flow

Minister Renan Filho said, in an interview, that current concession projects have time to adapt to the flow charging model, which free flow (free flow) of five years.

“We are observing what is happening here in São Paulo, so that we can offer better solutions in Brazil. When you implement the free flow all at once, without having a proper dialogue with the population, you end up being forced to retreat. This will not happen in the federal government because the deadline is broader and more balanced”, he explained.

According to Renan, federal contracts will have discounts for frequent users and exemptions for motorcycles, in addition to discounts on normal values during concessions due to the size of the blocks.

During the interview, Governor Ratinho Junior, from Paraná, confirmed that he is one of the governors who are in conversation with the governor of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Claudio Castro, to jointly present public security proposals.
