The Cuban orchestras The Van Van and Alexander Abreu and Havana D’Primera, two of the most popular groups on the Island today, will offer two concerts to the Peruvian public in the coming days, according to official media.
Both orchestras will take to the stage of the Arena Peru, on July 9, as protagonists of a show that will also host a representation of outstanding exponents of salsa from that nation, according to the information disclosed by its protagonists on social networks and reviewed by the agency Latin Press (PL).
The following night they will come together again in a show with a Cuban flavor, in which artists and groups such as Tania Pantoja, Álvaro Rod, Zaperoko, Septeto Acarey, Combinación de la Habana, Los Barraza and Son Tentación will also perform.
The concerts in Peruvian territory will take place after the presentations of both orchestras in several cities in the United States, as well as the European tour of Havana D’ Primera, which reached cities in Italy and Spain.
With these presentations Los Van Van will evoke their first visit to the South American country in 1971, just two years after the orchestra was formed under the direction of Juan Formellwhose legacy is currently kept alive by his son Samuel as leader of the band.
For its part, the orchestra directed by Abreu will display the talent of its musicians, after enchanting Colombia with a series of recitals and monopolizing the Cubadisco 2022 grand prize with the album Will it be overproduced by the Abdala label and the Spanish company Páfata, according to press reports.
Precisely, the repertoire of this phonogram must be one of the highlights of the performances in Peru, since it brings together twenty hits from the 1980s and 1990s, such as “Échale limon”, “Más roll quepelicula”, “Mi Salsa », «You do not calculate me» and «The dance of the tired ox».
After their concerts on Peruvian soil, both groups will maintain an active agenda of summer presentations. In particular, Los Van Van have planned performances in European countries such as Spain, Switzerland and France, in one of whose festivals, the Tempo Latino, they will have Alexander Abreu as a guest.
