An agent of the National Police of Peru (PNP) died and another ended seriously after the start of the training course of “Los Sinchis de Mazamari”, installed in the district of Mazamari, province of Satipo, Junín region, reported RPP Noticias.
According to the aforementioned media, Ensign PNP Donald Loayza died of pulmonary edema. While his partner, Ensign PNP Sergio Jerí, was referred to Lima due to dehydration and other types of injuries.
So far, the PNP has not issued any statement on this unfortunate incident that occurred in the course where parachuting, intelligence, amphibious, anti-narcotics and anti-terrorist tactics are developed.
What are “The Sinchis’ of Mazamari”?
It is a special paratrooper unit of the Counter-Drug Tactical Operations Division South. They fight against illicit drug trafficking and the remnants of terrorism.
