– How did your vocation to be an entrepreneur come about?

From a very young age I worked in various fields, I could write a book about it, I was never afraid of any job, which gave me the experience needed to be able to undertake. It was in 2013 that I began my great entrepreneurial adventure with my partner Francisco Roca, we opened the Horizontal and Wholesale Distributor, DHM. I already had experience in distribution and logistics since 2000, at that time we were a small company, but we were full of dreams.

We currently have coverage of more than 10,000 local stores, we already reach more than 90 wholesale markets and we work with national and international companies. We have a team with extensive knowledge of the Santa Cruz market, technology, continuous innovation, on-time delivery and operational efficiency among the main distribution companies in Santa Cruz.

– First steps, and raising two babies…

When we started the business, I had a 2-year-old son and a baby of months. It was a great personal challenge, but we always had in mind that we would become the best logistics company in Santa Cruz (and we continue in that daily battle). We looked for more business units, more work that could help me finance my venture, but I understood that without planning, preparation and vision I would not be able to move forward.

One of my favorite phrases is ‘Believe is to see’ and I apply it personally and professionally. If I don’t believe in what I do or who I am, nothing makes sense.

– Is Pitukea My Business a program for everyone?

Yes, it is aimed at entrepreneurs looking to grow. The Pitukea My Business program teaches us how to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and can provide a wide range of very valuable tools and solutions. It is an ideal tool for learning how to automate processes, data analysis, and it helps a lot in marketing, sales, product development and service improvement.

That is to say, Pitukea My Business can help entrepreneurs stay competitive in a constantly changing market and creates a large network of contacts between women. I think it is important to have or belong to a community like the IME, which was born from the Institute of Women & Business. It helps me stay motivated and up to date and to be able to meet and support other entrepreneurs and their businesses.

Can female entrepreneurs change the world?

Definitely, yes, we can achieve important change with new ideas, generating jobs and local economic development, motivating other women, we are all agents of change.
