President Andrés Manuel López Obrador confirmed that he will not change his security strategy to return to the past because it was a failed and inhumane policy. “Our adversaries with their spokesmen try to confuse, misinform, manipulate, saying: ‘What barbarity! There has never been as much violence in Mexico as there is now!’ Well, it is not true (…) Even the religious, with all due respect, who do not follow the example of Pope Francis, because they are very pergolado by the Mexican oligarchy.

Without questioning (because he lashed out at his critics in the context of the announcement of the report that he will render on Friday on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of his electoral victory), he questioned those who demand a change in the security plan: Where there is a conservative, there is a potential repressor, but we are not like that. What do they want? That it be machine-gunned again from the helicopters? Is that what they want? Nerd.

He affirmed that if the same security actions implemented since the war on organized crime had continued, the country would be in a state of ungovernability. He criticized that nothing was said before, when people were executed, they applied the kill ’em hot, the number of massacres grew, the fatality rates increased and the wounded were finished off; all of that is forgotten.

The President censured that in the disqualifications of his strategy he is intended to associate the Sinaloa cartel with the only proof that he greeted Joaquín Guzmán Loera’s mother, El Chapo. Imagine that journalism, of what level.

Respect for autonomy

He confirmed that last week he met separately with the Attorney General of the Republic, Alejandro Gertz Manero, and the president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, Arturo Zaldívar, to exchange points of view on state affairs and with full respect for autonomy. He ruled out that he had discussed with Gertz the recent audios that became known of his conversations that he had with the father of former Pemex director Emilio Lozoya. They only dealt with some cases that need to be expedited, among them the disappearance of normalistas from Ayotzinapa.

With Zaldívar, they discussed the corruption of some judges and magistrates after the release of detainees was detected, arguing that the investigations were poorly integrated, but there is information that it was for money. I do not get involved in issues that correspond to the Judiciary, only when it comes to matters that affect the population and are matters of State.

In a conference, he was asked about the appointment of Morena’s former candidate for governor of Nuevo León, Clara Luz Flores, to the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, on which he ruled against the summary trials (derived from the video that leaked on the campaign trail about her meeting with Keith Raniere, leader of the NXIVM sect), discrediting those who disapprove of her, because they have no moral authority.

There will always be disagreements, we do not live in a perfect society, we still do not have a completely honest government, we need to continue cleaning up public life, it is a process.

On the other hand, regarding the eventual release of Israel Vallarta, he said that he entrusted the case to the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, since They are one of the issues that we are not going to leave without attention, we are going to go to the bottom.
