Lopez Casarin: "Building community is going to be essential for security"

Lopez Casarin: "Building community is going to be essential for security"

How will technology be used to address security in Álvaro Obregón?
We have arches, cameras with artificial intelligence, because we are going to send a very important message, for example, in these senses where in Álvaro Obregón we are not going to allow cars with reported theft to circulate. What good will it do for us? Well, let it be very clear that here what is going to prevail is the law.

Álvaro Obregón has neighborhoods affected by violence such as Barrio Norte, La Araña and Olivar del Conde, how to serve them?
One of the exercises that we will be doing and implementing is, for example, replicating what was done with the head of Government, Clara Brugada, where we will be permanently visiting these colonies. We have this dynamic where attention does not exceed 24 hours when it is being attended to, we have a presence in each one.

What projects of the Government of Mexico City will be developed in Álvaro Obregón?
In this coordination we have already managed to have two Cablebuses: we will have a transversal Cablebus that will cross the ravines and that will make an impact and the other that will come from the upper part, which we are working on at once the route from La Era to the lower part that has a connectivity point, which may be highly probable in Mixcoac.
It is an investment of more than 6,000 million pesos that we will see reflected in our mayor’s office, it is an economic indicator. However, if you impact this on the hundreds of thousands of people who are going to have their quality of life, their time, their safety, their travel time, then what is going to be achieved is huge.
We will have six Utopias, they will be built. The first Utopia (…) will be precisely in the part of the Japan Park, an area that has been poorly served for a long time and there we are going to give it the first of six that we will be, or will be working with the Government of Mexico City for the next few years.

In Álvaro Obregón there are 56 neighborhoods at risk due to the presence of mines. What will the mayor’s office do?
The materials for the construction of the buildings in the center of our city came from Álvaro Obregón, so we are full of mines: open pit mines and mines that have been covered, but they are live mines.
From there we are going to update the Risk Atlas, we are strengthening our Civil Protection area to be able to understand the situation and the most important component, to be able to translate it into a language so that all citizens understand the level of risk that exists in one neighborhood or another and from this to be able to make joint plans to mitigate in case of any risk.
