The leader and president of Renovación Popular, Rafael Lopez Aliagaofficially presented its presidential formula for the next General Elections of Peru in 2026.
The announcement was made at the party headquarters located in Jesús María, shortly after López Aliaga made effective his resignation from the position of mayor of Lima, on October 13, to comply with the legal deadlines and participate in the electoral contest.
The Popular Renewal group that will accompany Rafael López Aliaga is made up of:
- First Vice Presidency: Norma Yarrow, current congressman from Renovación Popular.
- Second Vice Presidency: Jhon Iván Ramos Malpica, historic member of the party.
Roxana Rocha and parliamentarian Alejandro Muñante have been designated as accessory candidates (alternate candidates), both with participation in the legislative bench.
Announces suspension of the Villa Toll
During the presentation, López Aliaga took the opportunity to comment on current national issues, highlighting a recent judicial decision.
“Congratulate the Judiciary, the courts, because at the level of the constitutional superior court they are proceeding to suspend the collection of the Lima South toll (Villa toll)”, reinforcing one of his main political flags during his municipal administration.
The presentation marks the formal beginning of his campaign towards the Presidency of the Republic.
