Andres Hurtadobetter known as ‘Chibolín’, boasted of emptying the wallet of the mayor of Lima, Rafael Lopez Aliaga in one of the broadcasts of his program ‘Saturday with Andrés’. At a press conference, the mayor stressed that he has been involved in numerous social assistance cases and emphasized that when judging a person, it is necessary to consider both his positive and negative aspects.
The mayor explained that, thanks to an invitation from producer José Malpartida, he was able to explain the works that his administration was carrying out. At the press conference, the municipal authority expressed his support for the social assistance initiatives that Hurtado’s program has promoted over the past ten years. However, he hinted that if any act of corruption is proven, those responsible must face legal consequences.
“I want to make it clear that Andrés Hurtado’s program has done very important social work “In ten years, I have personally helped with many social assistance issues. When judging a human being, you have to weigh up the good and the bad. If corruption is proven, the weight of the law should fall on it, but there have been hundreds or thousands of cases of human assistance,” he said.
López Aliaga has denied that he paid to participate in the program: “I don’t pay for jam to anyone.”
In an interview with Beto Ortiz, Andrés Hurtado admitted that Rafael López Aliaga is one of the political figures he most appreciates and that, unlike other guests, he has never charged him for appearing on his show: “He helps me with wheelchairs, refrigerators, stoves and televisions.”
A report issued by Latina details that since 2022 José Malpartida Abadía – producer of ‘Chibolín’ – has been providing media training services to Rafael López Aliaga’s political party and that he has reportedly charged more than half a million soles.
