López Aliaga asks Susana Villarán to declare themselves guilty for having received money from Odebrecht and Oas

The mayor of Lima, Rafael López Aliagahe turned on the controversy with a hard pronouncement against the former mayor Susana Villaráninvestigated for alleged crimes of corruption after recognizing that he received millionaire contributions from Brazilian construction companies Odebrecht and OAS to finance their re -election campaign in 2014.

The burgomaster demanded that Villarán declare himself guilty and ends the judicial process that has spread for years.

“She herself has recognized in a radial interview that she received 12 million dollars. What more evidence? That she declares himself guilty and thus the chicken is dead. That her jail is eaten. She deserves it and that they make her prison in the Dinoes,” said López Aliaga.

The Lima mayor also referred to the death of José Miguel Castro, former municipal manager of the management of Villarán, who was found lifeless in his home of Miraflores with a cut in the neck in June 2024. López Aliaga hinted that the death would be linked to the links that Castro maintained with Villarán.

“Castro, to meet Villarán, is dead. And nobody says anything about that death that was horrible,” he said with emphasis, claiming greater transparency around the case.

Wait a meeting with the MTC minister

In another passage from his speech, López Aliaga addressed the situation of the Lima-Chosic Train, a longly postponed and vital work to decongest the transit in East Lima. He pointed out that he has already requested a meeting with the Minister of Transportation and Communications, César Sandoval, to seek a technical and political exit that makes the project viable.

He explained that in a first stage you could advance with immediate measures such as placing protection fences on the railroad and security feathers at the intersections to the Monserrate station.

In addition, he stressed that this station is very close to the Metropolitan, which would allow us to integrate both transport systems and facilitate the mobility of millions of passengers.
