Lombana: “I do not see any possibility that Carrizo or any candidate representing the PRD have an option in 2024”

Angel Valdes | May 11, 2023

The president of the Movimiento Otro Camino Party, Ricardo Lombana, touched on several issues of national interest, in an interview with journalist Enrique Arosemena on Radio Panama where he discussed the surveys that are circulating on social networks, possible alliances, candidacies for free postulation, in addition to the calendar of its political group to ratify the presidential candidate and the different positions of popular election.

“Those polls that put Mr. Carrizo at 25% there is no possibility that Carrizo marks that percentage, nor does he have any option of winning the elections, what’s more, I don’t think any PRD candidate has any option of winning the elections, they are going to do what let it be to manipulate the polls,” said Lombana.

Regarding the candidacies for free election, I consider that they are flawed with the participation of candidates who are in political parties «Free nomination has been flawed, a little stained with this absurd rule of allowing a member of a political party to go out and look for signatures as a candidate for free postulation”.

Regarding the internal process of the Movement Another Way Party, Lombana pointed out that it will be in July when the candidates for popular election and the presidential candidate will be decided “We do not have a primary process, what we have is a completely open internal selection process, On July 2, a National Directory is held where all the candidates for all the positions of popular election are chosen and on July 30 the presidential candidate is decided, that is to say that by July 30 he would already have all his electoral proposal defined.
