Everything is ready for the Black and White Carnival 2026; Pasto authorities reviewed measures to prevent crimes, control the sale of talcum powder and guarantee the proper use of public space.

He Logistics and Security Committee It took place in the facilities of the Mayor’s Office of Pasto, with the participation of the Government team, the different municipal agencies and entities that are part of the Carnival operating group.

During the meeting, the necessary measures were reviewed and adjusted to ensure the safe development of the event, which attracts thousands of visitors each year.

Presence of the Pasto Metropolitan Police

He Colonel Hernando Calderón Vegacommander of the Pasto Metropolitan Police, confirmed that the institution will have a permanent presence in the main stages of the Carnival.

“The Metropolitan Police will be present in the squares, on the Carnival path and in the different neighborhoods, accompanying the community to prevent criminal acts. In coordination with the Mayor’s Office and the Secretariats of Government, Traffic and Public Space, good citizen behavior will be promoted and, if necessary, the measures contemplated in the law will be adopted against conduct contrary to coexistence or the commission of crimes,” said the officer.

Articulation with Corpocarnaval

For its part, Andres Jaramillomanager of Corpocarnavalhighlighted the coordination between institutions to guarantee a safe and organized party.

Among the topics discussed in the committee included the talc marketingwith the creation of a special group made up of the Police, the Mayor’s Office and Public Space, which will carry out controls on the Carnival path and points of sale, following current regulations. A final report is expected to be delivered on January 7 in compliance with the ruling that regulates this aspect of the event.

Compliance with regulations and public order

He Secretary of the Government of Pasto, Giovanny Guerrerowho chaired the meeting, emphasized that actions that violate the regulations will not be allowed.

“Permanent operations will be carried out on the Carnival path and its surroundings to prevent the sale of products that do not comply with the standard and the improper use of public space. The irregular sale of stalls or the installation of stands that do not have the minimum safety conditions will not be permitted,” he concluded.

With these actions, the Mayor’s Office of Pasto and its allies seek that the Black and White Carnival 2026 is carried out in an orderly, safe and respectful manner,
