The local and district councilors of the National Electoral Institute (INE) who will participate in the 2023 elections will receive remunerations of 56,000 and 47,000 pesos per month, respectively, for their work from January 1 to June 30 of the coming year.
This is how a project of the Executive General Board of the INE outlines it, within the preparations for the elections in the state of Mexico and Coahuila.
On September 26, the general council approved the comprehensive plan and the coordination calendars for the 2022-2023 local electoral processes, which are carried out between the INE and local public bodies.
The local and district councilors have the same responsibilities as their peers in the general council, related to the preparation and development of the elections, as well as the issuance of electoral results; from it the diets are fixed.
Therefore, according to the project that will be put to the consideration of the General Executive Board of the INE today, from October to December the local councilors will receive 14 thousand 585 and the district councilors 10 thousand 148, plus a payment of financial support
of 27 thousand 099 pesos per month, in each case.
And for the coming year, from January to June, the diet will be 29 thousand 170 for local councilors; of 20 thousand 295 for the districts, plus the financial support
of 27 thousand 099 pesos, as a gross monthly amount.
The Board clarifies that these amounts may be modified according to the approval made by the deputies to the 2023 Budget for the INE; the same applies to the payments to be applied in the event that there are extraordinary elections next year.
Payments will be made, via payroll, in favor of the proprietary director, unless the former is permanently absent. The agreement specifies that each director will be able to count on the support of a temporary position to support his activities.
