SANTO DOMINGO.-For the first time, Santo Domingo was one of the 14 cities in the world selected in 2024 to celebrate a major Bible education event for Jehovah’s Witnesses with international guests.
This is about the assembly “Let us preach the good news!” with a special Bible education program held at the Sans Souci Convention Center.
Delegates from Brazil, Colombia, Finland, Haiti, Italy, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Portugal, Suriname and the United States attended alongside local Witnesses.
Thousands of international guests began arriving gradually on Sunday, August 18. They have filled hotels and restaurants in Greater Santo Domingo.
These foreign delegates enjoy unique opportunities to share, learn about other cultures and receive hospitality from their local guests.
Jehovah’s Witnesses hold large Bible education events annually. Local Witnesses usually meet together with the general public.
Each year, the organization determines a certain number of locations where programs with international guests are held, and this time Santo Domingo was one of those chosen places.
The theme of this year’s convention focuses on the encouraging good news of the Bible.
Jehovah’s Witnesses are known worldwide for sharing this message of comfort and hope with their neighbors.
In the Dominican Republic, some 38,000 Witnesses conduct more than 45,000 Bible courses in Spanish, Haitian Creole, American Sign Language, English, Russian and Mandarin Chinese.

• Bible-based talks, interviews, and videos will be featured. Topics include: “Why Do We Need Good News?”, “Good News Overcomes Bad News,” and “Bad News Doesn’t Scare Us.”
