The extraordinary session of the Congressional Oversight Commissionin which the complaints about the alleged prostitution network that would have operated within Parliament will be evaluated.
The parliamentary group has summoned Jorge Luis Torres Saravia, former head of the Legal and Constitutional Office of Congress, who is credited with having directed this alleged prostitution network.
In that sense, the congressmen present will ask that you report and explain the criteria adopted for the proposal and hiring of the personnel who work in the Legal and Constitutional Advisory Office of the Congress of the Republic.
The agenda of the parliamentary group indicates that Torres Saravia must also report on the charges against him, as well as the murder of the former Congress worker, Andrea Vidal Gómez.
The Oversight Commission has also summoned Giovanni Carlo Antonio Forno Flórez, senior officer of Congress, to report on the agreement of the Board of Directors that appoints Jorge Torres Saravia as head of the Legal and Constitutional Advisory Office.
In addition, he must report on the subsequent control measures carried out when he became aware of the events attributed to Torres Saravia, as well as the murder of Andrea Vidal Gómez.
The Head of the Human Resources Department of Congress, Haidy Janette Figueroa, was also summoned and will have to respond to the list of personnel that have been hired during the periods 2022, 2023 and 2024 for the Head of the Legal and Constitutional Office of Congress .
Likewise, it must report on the selection criteria and specialty of the personnel hired during the management of Jorge Torres Saravia, as well as the filters of the personnel profile to occupy the various positions in the Legal and Constitutional Office of Congress. It must also indicate who signed the personnel requirement for the Legal and Constitutional Office of Congress, and refer to the police, criminal and judicial records of the person accused.
The Congressional Attorney, Manuel Eduardo Peña Tavera, must also respond to the actions taken following the discovery of the alleged prostitution network in Congress, as well as the murder of the former Congressional worker.
