On Wednesday (3), the first class of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) continues the trial that may condemn former President Jair Bolsonaro and seven allies for the coup plot that tried to reverse the result of the 2022 elections.
The group is part of the crucial core of the complaint presented by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR). The trial began at 9:17.

In the resumption of the trial on Wednesday, the support of Bolsonaro’s lawyers will be heard; Former Institutional Security Office Minister (GSI) Augusto Heleno; Former Defense Minister Paulo Sérgio Nogueira and General Braga Netto, former minister of Bolsonaro and candidate for deputy on the 2022 plate.
Eight sessions were allocated to case analysis. The first was held last Tuesday (2). The others were scheduled for September 3, 9, 10 and 12.
The vote that will condemn or acquit the defendants should start only in the next sessions. The penalties may exceed 30 years in prison.

First day
Yesterday (3), the trial had two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. At the beginning of the work, the rapporteur, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, read the Criminal Action Reportdocument containing the summary of all steps traveled in the process, from investigations to the presentation of the final allegations, last phase before the trial.
Before the report, Moraes gave an emphatic defense speech of national sovereignty and the independence of Brazilian justice, and warned that the STF will not give in The “internal or external pressures” in judging Bolsonaro.
The Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, defended the conviction of Bolsonaro and the other accused. By introducing its oral support, Gonet gave a speech against impunity.
In the afternoon, lawyers from four defendants were heard: Mauro Cid, Alexandre Ramagem, ALMIR GARNIER and Anderson Torres.
