Lists are closed and advertising is opened

This Friday the 27th is the last day to present the lists of candidates for the presidency, the senate, and the deputation, for the national elections on October 27.

That day, the 99 deputies and 30 senators will be definitively elected for the next five-year period because number 31 will be the vice president of the Republic, she will emerge from the winning formula in the October elections or in the November runoff.

In the event that no presidential ticket has 50% plus one vote of those cast, there will be a ballot on Sunday, November 24.

Plebiscites

For October there will be two: the Social Security reform and the night raids. Citizens will be able to vote for one of these, both or neither. For a plebiscite to be approved, it must have 50% plus one of the votes cast. There is no ballot in plebiscites.

The plebiscite for “a fair debt” in September achieved 320,000 signatures, that is, 50,000 more than the minimum required by the Electoral Court. If the number of approved ballots reaches 270 thousand, the Open Council plebiscite will be voted on in the municipal elections of May 2025.

This 27th also expires the deadline for political parties to present their donations and contributions, as well as the initial budget of their campaigns.

That day the Court also allows the parties to carry out electoral advertising.
