Nicolás Schiappacasse, the footballer accused of internal trafficking in firearms and ammunition, receiving and carrying a firearm in public places as the author, maintained a fluid link with members of the Peñarol bar.
The weapon that was seized from him, when he was traveling to Maldonado for the classic match last Wednesday, was reported stolen in February 2020. When he was arrested, a cell phone was seized from the defendant.
After examining the phone, it appears that the accused acquired firearms without authorization on at least three occasions. In one of the chats of October 11, 2021 with a contact, a conversation arises where Schiappacasse sends him two photographs of two semi-automatic pistols. One brand Glock and the other Browning. The player says to the contact: “A well-known military friend of my mom wants to sell it to me., he leaves it to me for a thousand I think”. The contact then asks him if he bought it and Schiappacassse sends him a photo of the Glock weapon, saying yes. “At one thousand two hundred, it’s very light”, he clarifies.
In another message sent on October 13, the player sends an image of the gun and tells the contact: “Let the chicken catch”.
In another of the chats, an acquaintance tells him: “We are going to paint the Centennial today, are you for the cause or what?” The footballer replies: “Come on brother, you know what you tell me and I’ll go”. In addition, he asks: “The 9, did you use it?”. The contact replies: “No brother, he has all the things you gave me.”
Likewise, in a WhatsApp group shared with three other people, photographs of two weapons dated January 20, 2022 were shared, one of them with the same characteristics as the one seized and the other a submachine gun type (HK MP) sent by the accused to the group.
