The commercial opening of the border between Colombia and Venezuela by the department of North of Santander and the Tachira state will be held next September 26. This was announced this Friday by President Gustavo Petro Urrego, through his Twitter account.
On September 26 we will open the border between Colombia and Venezuela. As a first step, the air connection and cargo transport between our countries will be resumed. We confirm the Government’s commitment to restore brotherly relations.

The president announced that the air connection yehe cargo transport between the two countries will be the first activities enabled. So far, companies like Wingo or Avianca already have the permits to fly between the capitals, Bogotá and Caracas.
“We confirm the Government’s commitment to re-establish brotherly relations”, wrote the national president.
In this way, the reactivation of the diplomatic relations between both nations, promised by the current Colombian president in his election campaign.
In addition, the ambassadors of both nations have already been ratified by the respective chancelleries and presidencies.
