The Argentine Lisandro Martínez, who completed his transfer to Manchester United on Wednesday, assured that he has worked “very hard” for this and that it is an honor to join this club.
United confirmed this Wednesday the transfer of the central defender, with whom they already reached an agreement in principle a few weeks ago. Martínez has signed a contract until June 2027, with the option to extend it for another year.
“It is an honor to join this football club. I have worked very hard to achieve this and now that I have arrived I am going to give even more of myself,” said Martínez, who played more than 177 games with Ajax Amsterdam and is a regular in the Argentine national team’s calls.
“I have been very lucky to have played for very successful teams in my career and that is what I want to continue doing at United. There will be a lot of work to do to get there, but I really believe that with this coach and these players we can achieve it, “added the center-back.
“I would like to thank Ajax and its fans for all the support they have given me. I’ve had some amazing years there, but I felt the time was right to try myself in a different environment. Now I’m in the perfect club to do it.”
Martinez has already joined United training at the Carrington Sports City. EFE
