SAN LUIS POTOSI, Mexico.- Lis Cuestathe wife of President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, reminded the Cuban public that this Monday the couple celebrates another wedding anniversary, specifically, the 18th.
For his 18th birthday anniversary married, a commemoration called Quartz Wedding, Cuesta took to social media to leave a cheesy message to her husband.
“Congratulations, my treasure, on our quartz wedding. Thank you for so much love between kisses and battles,” wrote X on social media.
Almost five hours later, Díaz-Canel shared the message and added: “Thank you, love, with kisses and battles we will also win.”
Cuesta never misses an opportunity to dedicate messages to her “divine lover,” “treasure,” “dictator” of her heart, which usually generate waves of mockery on social media.
Since her arrival on Twitter on March 31, 2022, the ruler’s wife has not only become an active user, but also an enthusiastic spokesperson for Castroism and for every tourist-cultural event held on the Island, including banquets.
In April, she congratulated her “divine lover” on his birthday. But more recently, she became the subject of controversy when she celebrated the day of the Virgin of Regla, or Yemayá, a similar deity in the Yoruba religion.
Through a post in X (formerly Twitter), the “first lady” of the Island sent a prayer for the well-being of Cubans: “Beautiful Virgin of the Blue, Yemayá, protect Cubans with your sacred mantle, come from Mother Africa.”
As a staunch defender of the Castro regime and its political discourse, Cuesta also asked the Virgin to extend her love “to the Palestinians, who suffer so much” along its waters.
However, the plea was met with a wave of criticism from Cubans, who expressed their discontent through comments.
“Cubans do not need protection, what we Cubans need is for your husband and the PCC to let us be happy, free and live in peace,” said a user identified as Taoro.
In her biography, the “first lady” presents herself as “Cuban, grandmother, revolutionary, professor, coordinator of events and culture-tourism of the MINCULT”. It is in this last section where she has been seen most active in recent years, always at the forefront of the organization of numerous events, among which several culinary fairs and the San Remo Festival in Havana.
Together with her husband, the Cuban ruler, she has embarked on trips around the world and dined in sumptuous restaurants, rubbed shoulders with other government representatives and has been photographed buying in markets, as happened in Granada.
