Four members of the El Gilbert criminal gang, a cell of the Tren del Llano, were killed after confronting the military in Matas Altas, a rural sector of the Pedro Zaraza municipality, Guárico, early this Monday.
According to a report collected, three of those killed have already been identified as Gilberth Abraham Palencia Toledo (El Gilbert), Nelson Yeferson Pinto and David Alexander Birriel Reyes. A fourth subject is in the process of identification.
At the site of the confrontation, the soldiers collected three rifles: an AK47 and two light automatic rifles, as well as 92 ammunition, 13 magazines of different calibers, 4 motorcycles, 2 radio transmitters and 9 cell phones, according to a report from the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) to which we had partial access.
The procedure is part of Operation Zaraza, one of the nine plans that the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb) keeps active against structured organized crime groups.
Also in Guárico, but in the Las Lajitas sector, Julián Mellado municipality (El Sombrero), regional police agents had a confrontation with another cell associated with the Tren del Llano, commanded by Daniel Maluenga.
Six members of that group who were traveling in a gray Fortuner took up arms against the Poliguárico commission, a situation that was responded to by the uniformed officers.
After the brief confrontation, the subjects fled, leaving a Light Automatic Rifle abandoned at the scene, with a magazine and 11 7.62 mm ammunition, the report says.
Once both procedures occurred, Oscar de Jesús Noguera Hernández (El Diente), head of the Tren del Llano, spread messages on his social networks threatening to kill those who have published details of the confrontations.
The Llano Train, a structure that is being dismantled by the actions of Operation Zaraza, is dedicated to collecting vaccines from medium and small producers in Guárico and Anzoátegui, according to Conas investigations.
