Lima Trade proposes total recomposition of the ministerial cabinet

The censorship of the Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, Betssy Chávez, and the announcement by President Pedro Castillo that in the coming days there will be more changes in the ministerial cabinet, is an opportunity for the Executive to summon suitable people, with integrity , but above all with a dialogue profile, held the (CCL).

In this sense, the CCL indicated that, among these changes, the head of state must consider the replacement of the president of the Council of Ministers, Aníbal Torres, who, far from constituting an element of conciliation and rapprochement, only seeks to sharpen the conflicts and divisions between Peruvians.

In the case of the Labor sector, the business association believed that the new minister must have as a clear objective to promote the recovery of employment and combat labor informality, for which the important role of the private sector in the creation of new Job positions.

Through a pronouncement, the Lima Chamber of Commerce recalled the recent promulgation of Law 31419, which establishes new legal requirements to guarantee the suitability in the access and exercise of the public function of public officials and directors of free appointment and removal, among which the ministers of State appear in the first place.

In an economic crisis as serious as the one we are experiencing, due to the coronavirus and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, it was foreseeable that there would be an increase in unemployment and a rise in the price of commodities such as food and fuel, for which professionals and technicians were needed. prepared, with resolution capacity to face the situation. This has not been the case and that is why Peru is one of the most affected, which is harming millions of families, especially the most vulnerable”, said the CCL.

In addition, he criticized the censored Minister Chávez for having ideologized the management of the Labor sector, where he privileged his political interests over those of the country. It should be remembered that two weeks ago, the union urged Congress to exercise the censorship mechanism among its functions when there is a basis for it.

Our country can no longer resist the collapse of the public administration due to the apparent decision of President Castillo to distribute the ministries and main responsibilities of the State among friends, supporters, relatives and even financiers of his campaign. Governing a country is not starting a distribution, but managing resources efficiently, responsibly and with commitment to all Peruvians without exception.”, he remarked.

The business association also pointed out that the appointments of unsuitable and ill-prepared officials to assume different positions only accentuate one of the endemic evils of public management in Peru, among which corruption and inefficiency unfortunately prevail.

Finally, he recalled that, according to a report from the Comptroller General of the Republic, at the end of 2021, 7,740 officials and public servants were identified, at the three levels of government, with alleged responsibility for irregular acts, which would have caused damage. to the State for about S/ 2,500 million.
