The company Edesur Dominican started this Monday the lighting works on the 30 de Mayo highway, as a collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of the National District, in addition to contributing to the national security strategy “My Safe Country”, which is implemented by the central government.
The project to be carried out by the electricity distributor includes the section from Núñez de Cáceres to the toll, and is part of a second stage of lighting this avenue.

The president of the Caribbean Sea Neighborhood Board, César Balbi, welcomed the start of these works and said that this social claim by community members, passers-by and drivers dates back to 2016.
The CEO of Edesur Dominicana, Milton Morrison, He said that he contacted the mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, to inform her of this project to recover lighting on this important road.
He affirmed, in this sense, that the Mayor’s Office then undertook to illuminate the section from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Núñez de Cáceres.
The lighting project that develops Edesur It covers a total of five kilometers.

Morrison explained that the work is carried out with a specialized brigade of 60-foot basket trucks, due to the height of the public lighting poles.
Includes the distribution of 4,600 meters of power lines; the installation of seven transformers, 77 poles and dozens of new LED lights, as well as the standardization of other existing ones.
Edesur’s public lighting initiative is framed as a project that contributes to the national citizen security strategy “My safe country” and as a social responsibility action of the company, as a collaboration with the mayors, who by law are directly responsible of public lighting in cities.
