On the other hand, in the state of Nueva Esparta, blackouts of more than 20 hours continue due to the lack of gas for the operation of the thermoelectric plants in the region. The supply of gas and diesel was also affected by the explosion of the gas pipeline in Monagas which, according to the Vice Presidency, was the product of an “attack” planned by foreign agents and opposition leader María Corina Machado.
Margariteños have asked the authorities to resolve the contingency as soon as possible, since many have lost food, appliances and quality of life. In addition, commercial activity has been paralyzed on the island due to the situation.
