Lifting of sanctions against Venezuela is a triumph of the diplomatic siege: Government

Like a triumph of the ‘diplomatic siege President Iván Duque described the announcement by the Government of Joe Biden to relax some sanctions imposed on Venezuela.

The head of state said that international pressure led Nicolás Maduro to have to sit down with the democratic resistance to seek the return of democracy in that country, which also allows it to recognize the outrages that were committed in the past.

“That is a triumph of the Venezuelan democratic resistance and it is a triumph of the diplomatic siege. Why ? because Maduro had said that he would not sit down again until they freed alex saab and they did not release him he is extradited and will continue to be processed”, said the president.

“There is a triumph of the diplomatic pressure of the United States where it is up to him to recognize the outrages that were committed in the past to oil companies in that country and a chain of production has to be taken, but not so that there are more dictatorshipbut for there to be a return to democracy,” he added.

Duque insisted that this ‘diplomatic fence’ must be maintained so that democracy returns to Venezuela and the dictatorship of Ripe do not continue to perpetuate yourself in power.
