Liberals point to the government of Central

Edgar Acosta, a national deputy for the PLRA, confirmed yesterday his candidacy for the governorship of Central. He affirmed that with capacity, courage and honesty good management can be carried out.

“These are qualities that are impregnated in me. Changes cannot be made without courage because many times you have to face gangsters, ”she pointed out.

He urged the other candidates to demonstrate irreproachable conduct in order to compete for the position.

“If he was dishonest in any administration. Or it shows some apparent efficiency, but in reality it is not like that, it should not enjoy public trust. You have to confront ideas, but you also have to analyze the candidates”, she highlighted.

He argued that the Comptroller must investigate the resume of each of the candidates. In addition, they must participate in the debates.

At another time, he focused on the mayor of Villa Elisa, Ricardo Estigarribia, who also intends to be governor of Central. He pointed out that the works highlighted by the press, carried out by the mayor, were not really as important as the press presented them.

“It was a good marketing at a certain moment in which people wanted to see something different and had the media accompaniment at that moment of presentation of certain ideas that went down well. But looking closely, it was not so much like that, ”he said.

Finally, he argued that Estigarribia, being a Llanista, could also count on the support of Chartism.

SSTIGARRIBIA

Ricardo Estigarribia, mayor of Villa Elisa, affirmed that the negotiations to formalize his candidacy for the governorship of Central are very advanced. He stressed that he has the support of nine of the 10 liberal mayors of the department.

“We want to recover the governorship for the opposition since this period was managed disastrously by the Colorado Party,” he said.

On the questioning of deputy Acosta that Estigarribia’s management was more marketing than concrete actions, he replied that everyone has their opinion.

“The people who live and who actually used those services are not going to have the same thought. We managed a lot but we didn’t just do it. I had important and emblematic projects such as the Paseo Parque, which was a 7-hectare landfill that today has become a place to walk and exercise for the whole family”, she pointed out.

He highlighted that Villa Elisa is the third municipality in the country that has an asphalt plant.

“We have made many square meters of asphalt within the community. We built an amphitheater for 1000 people. This end of the month the envelopes for the construction of a sports center for 3000 people will be opened. In this way we are leaving emblematic works parallel to the administrative work that consists of cobblestones, lighting, squares and the construction of schools”, he commented.

Finally, regarding Acosta’s criticism for his alleged closeness to Chartism, he replied that he beat the candidate for “Honor Colorado” by 17,000 votes during the last elections.

“If we are going to go to the case. He would have beaten me if I was a Chartist. By 100 votes the ninth councilor did not enter. If they are statements by the deputy, he is already starting with attacks. First of all, I congratulate him and wish him success in his functions. But I do not intend to fall into the baseness of speaking ill of another. For my part, I plan to work to replicate all the good things I have done in my community,” he concluded.
